Football Fancast identified that their advertising revenue stream had plateaued and was at risk from over-reliance on one or two traffic sources outside of their control. They asked us to identify how we could remedy this and generate more organic traffic for their website.
We conducted a complete technical and content audit of the Football Fancast website, identifying that whilst the site did receive large traffic volumes the majority were from one referral site. We uncovered technical deficiencies in the site structure that were restricting the amount of organic traffic the site was receiving from search engines and set about remedying this.
The solution was to create an new internal linking structure, the creation of hubs around the most popular players and clubs and a revamp of the content layout of pages to encourage more time on site and more multiple page views and content sharing. Year on year organic traffic doubled as a result of our work.
